Divine Presence in our Day to Day Lives

How do we find divine presence in our day to day lives?  When we look around we see the complications of the world, the struggles, disconnects, discrepancies and blatant lies.  It’s easy to forget the beautiful things: the sparkle in someone’s eyes, a kind word, a thoughtful action.  Beautiful things, those parts of our world that hold truth, the living thoughts and actions, those things are like rays of light that absorb instantaneously into our world.  The rest of it?  It all serves a purpose.  We will always have opportunity to follow one belief or another.  We are always open to take the high road or the low.  Is any one path, direction, or thought of any greater value than another?

Divine presence in our day to day life – what does that mean?  Is it a feeling of a higher presence that surrounds us, guiding us and telling us what to do next? Is it a way of thinking, that if only we could hold our thoughts in a pure, supporting manner then maybe the world would be a better place, yes let’s all pray that tomorrow will be a better day.  Is divine presence something we seek out in a certain place, at a certain time?

All of The Above

You know those quizes with multiple choices, and the times that last option is “all of the above”.  Isn’t that really the best answer to the question, “where do we find divine presence in our day to day lives”?   It is around us, in us, and radiates through us so freely.  Divine presence is indeed radiant, able to pass through even the stickiest moments we create for ourselves, though sometimes its difficult to see that radiant light through all our distractions.  Still it is there, the divine presence that is us and lives within us.

“All of the above” – what a wonderful way to picture the divine presence in our day to day lives, and maybe if we viewed our world through those eyes the world would start living up to that vision.
